Job Title: International Accounting Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as leader over the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure all financial reports are prepared and presented in a timely and accurate manner, in compliance with US GAAP and company policies and standards
  • Prepare analyses and reports for senior management including financial review and variance performance
  • Manage, motivate and train general accounting staff by providing the necessary guidance to properly develop and advance their careers within the organization
  • Partner with the Corporate Accounting Manager on the consolidated monthly close activities.
  • Support the International Vice President of Finance
  • Act as liaison between Corporate Accounting and the Divisions, establishing and communicating policies and procedures, maintaining open, active lines of communication
  • Identify areas of difference in local accounting practices and work with local teams to ensure overall compliance with the Company’s accounting and reporting requirements
  • Assist Divisions in adhering to policies and procedures and in resolving problems encountered in performing their daily business
  • Maintain controls over accounting transactions to ensure the accuracy of the general ledger. 
  • Play key role in the internal and external audit process
  • Participate in the footnote disclosures and other compliance reporting
  • Coordinate and review balance sheet account reconciliations and continuously perform an aggressive review of the balance sheet
  • Exercise judgment in financial, operational, or transactional analysis to identify and help resolve issues
  • Support External Reporting team for 10K/10Q SEC filing requirements
  • Involvement with SOX policies and procedures and accounting in accordance with GAAP
  • Contribute to the identification and design of accounting policies, procedures and business process improvements.
  • Assist in the implementation of corporate initiatives
  • Complete requests from Divisions and Senior Management in timely and accurate manner
  • Alert management of situations that may adversely affect the company’s overall financial condition
  • Responsible for becoming knowledgeable with the company’s internal IT and control systems
  • Participate in finance projects on an as needed basis
  • Supervise and manage the performance of 4 Accountant(s) and Senior  Accountant(s).
Experience: 7-10
Skills Required:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
CPA preferred
Minimum of seven (7) years experience preparing, analyzing, and reporting consolidated financials, in a combination of Big 4 and SEC corporate accounting, with exposure to international divisions in a $500M or larger public company desired
Minimum two (2) years management experience in an accounting role
Experience in accounting and financial reporting matters, design and maintenance of internal control systems
Experience with business process improvement 
Enterprise systems experience required, preferably on Oracle Financial Software
Experience with the control, maintenance, and design of a consolidated chart of accounts and reporting system
